When you use Gut Journal (Poop Diary), you may enter bowel movement logs (Bristol scale type, color, size, time), mood and food tracking data, photos (optional), pet health tracking data, and notes.
With your explicit permission, the App may read data from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), including hydration, sleep, and exercise data, to provide personalized health insights.
If you use the Toilet Finder feature, the App requests your device location to find nearby restrooms. Your location is sent to third-party APIs (Refuge Restrooms and OpenStreetMap Overpass) to search for nearby facilities. We do not store your location data, and it is only transmitted when you actively use the Toilet Finder feature. You can choose not to use this feature.
We do not collect your name, email, or contact information. We do not require account creation. We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to any third party (except the limited location data described above when using Toilet Finder).
All data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers, databases, or cloud storage. Your health data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it.
The free version displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. Premium subscribers do not see ads.
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes transaction data through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not have access to your payment details.
The Toilet Finder feature uses Refuge Restrooms API and OpenStreetMap Overpass API to locate nearby restrooms. When you use this feature, your approximate location is sent to these services. These are third-party services with their own privacy policies. Location data is only transmitted when you actively use the feature.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times. You can access, export (Premium), delete individual entries or all data, and uninstalling the App deletes all associated data.
Photos taken within the App are stored locally on your device. With your permission, photos are also saved to your device's photo library as a backup. Photos are never uploaded to any server.
Premium subscriptions include a 7-day free trial period. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your device's app store settings.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Users must confirm they are 13 or older to use the App.
